I Started This With a Trowel and a Work Ethic

My name is Jared Olweiler, and I started Tailored Tile LLC when I was 25 years old. I'd spent years working under experienced installers, learning everything I could about substrate prep, waterproofing systems, layout planning, and what actually makes tile last — not just look good on day one.

When I decided to go out on my own, I had one rule: do it right or don't do it at all. I've seen too many jobs where tile was set over bad substrate, grout was rushed before cure, or corners were cut because a crew was already on the next job. That's not how I work. Every project I take on gets my full attention from the first measurement to the final grout line.

I started with small bathroom floors and a lot of word-of-mouth. A few years in, I'd worked my way up to full bathroom renovations, large-format stone installs, custom walk-in showers, and light commercial spaces. The business has grown because the work speaks for itself — and because I make it a point to communicate clearly, show up when I say I will, and leave the job site cleaner than I found it.

This is still a hands-on operation. When you call Tailored Tile, you're talking to me — and when we start your project, I'm the one setting your tile.
